Christian And Austin – Green Mountains Fly Fishing

Im praying every waking hour for you Christian Pezzino. You are one the best friends a guy could ever ask for. I will never forget all of our bad-ass adventures from Delfest to fishing our way through the Green Mountains. I have complete faith that we will be able to pick up where we left off. I’ll be there for you through your whole recovery, and you known Ill be on a plane to Burlington to visit you as soon as I get through finals. STAY STRONG! I know that everyone who loves and cares for you is sending you the most positive energy possible–that’s a whole lot of people and some very strong energy. Im with you buddy, there is no end.

Please join us in praying for our dear friend Christian Pezzino. He was critically injured and has undergone a serious brain surgery. He is recovering and is responding to slight pain. Lets keep helping him heal! The more prayers the better! He needs all the love he can get!

UPDATE! Christian is moving his arms and legs in response to his friends visiting him, and when you play him late 60s/early 70s Grateful Dead!

UPDATE! There is a party/benefit in Christian’s honor at the Tiny Theater in Poultney this Friday evening, May 2nd. Also, a friend spent the day with him in the hospital, she read him the note I wrote above and they listened to Railroad Earth all day… she said he grabbed her hand so tightly! What a miracle!

UPDATE! Christian has been transferred to a rehab facility closer to home in PA! He has begun standing, moving his head, and is able to give a thumbs up! He is finally becoming more alert–hopefully he wakes up completely soon!

UPDATE! A message from Hannah Weller: “I had a blast with Christian yesterday! When Sylvia asked him what he was going to do with Austin he cast an imaginary rod and reeled in the line good stuff!”

  1. Hi Austin– I am one of the professors at the college, and I am so glad you took the time to put this up and write the beautiful sentiment about Christian. All the students and faculty I know at GMC are focusing on sending him positive thoughts and prayers–sending him the strength he needs for a full recovery. You may know this already, but they are also holding a party/benefit in his honor at the Tiny Theater in Poultney this Friday evening, May 2nd.

For many of us–your blog may be the only place we can get updates or share our sentiments and prayers about Christian–so if you could continue to post updates during his recovery, we would all be so very grateful.

    Thanks again for doing this.

    • Hi Cate, Thank you so much for reaching out to me and the blog. I am so happy to hear that everyone in the community is supporting Christian and praying for his recovery. He needs as much as love and positive energy as he can get–and it sounds like he has a lot on the way. Thank you for giving me the update on the benefit at the Tiny Theater, I will add that to the blog post and on Facebook + Instagram. I am so glad that this blog post can serve as a means of communication between students, family, and friends. You are so very welcome! I will continue to update the blog as I hear more positive news from one of our closest mutual friends. I will print out the messages you leave for him on the blog and the ones others have left on Instagram and Facebook.

  2. Please know that employees of Perrys Main St. Eatery are also sending our prayers and thoughts Christians way. Also thank you for keeping us updated!!! Please let Christian know I will buy his breakfast on his first visit back!!!!

  3. Austin,
    I am Christian’s aunt.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the beautiful letter you wrote to him. Beautiful kind words. I can tell they came from your heart. Tears haven’t stopped since I read it.
We will take all the prayers and positive thoughts for him that we can get.
He is lucky to have a friend like you. I know I have never met you but, your letter and words say it all.
Again, thank you for the kind and beautiful words and keep him your thoughts.

    • Alisa, Thank you so much for getting in touch with me. You are so very welcome, I love Christian very much–he is the best. I will keep praying for him and keep him in my thoughts! -Austin

  4. I didn’t know Christan well while I was at GMC; we didn’t have many friends in common, but he always seemed like a really great guy. I am so happy to see that his friends and family have each other for support and I truly hope he continues to recover. He’s been in my thoughts every day since I heard the news

  5. Thinking of you Austin, and of Christian – we loved seeing both of you come into the coop, and miss your adventures, laughs and good nature. Wondering how Christian’s recovery has been going. Thinking of you both, and your families…
